Key Insights

Of the 724 UK adults surveyed in October 2025, 48.3% (350 respondents) have never been on a cruise but say they would consider one. A slightly larger group — 51.7% (374) — have previous cruise experience and remain open to booking again. Together, these two groups represent a substantial active demand pool for the cruise industry.

The sample skews towards older, more affluent age groups: 51.5% are aged 55 or above, and 42.4% are in full-time employment. 32.5% are retired. This demographic has both the disposable income and the time flexibility that make cruise holidays an accessible and attractive option. The survey covers all regions of the UK, with London, the North West and the South East producing the highest number of responses.

Perhaps the most striking finding in this research is the gap between intent and action. 79.3% of all respondents say they have not yet booked a cruise holiday — despite expressing openness to cruising. Among first-timers (those who have never cruised before), this figure rises to 79.3%. This represents a significant pipeline of latent demand waiting to convert into bookings.
